Scott Gates leads the Friess Associates research effort. He guides the quality of research by ensuring that individual holdings conform to our investment criteria.

Mr. Gates reserves final say regarding the composition of the portfolios we manage. He joined Friess Associates in 2003.

In earlier parts of an investment career that began in 1988, he was a senior analyst and portfolio manager for Gardner Lewis Asset Management, and a trader in the foreign exchange departments of Tague Securities/Societe General and Butler Harlow LLC.

Mr. Gates earned a BA from Wake Forest University and an MBA from Emory University.
