Nick is investment leader of the equity income team, and co-lead manager of the global equity income strategy, having started out at Newton in 2000 as part of the global multi-asset team. An associate member of the United Kingdom Society of Investment Professionals, Nick chairs Newton’s equity income group.

At Leeds University, Nick studied economics and philosophy. After university, Nick joined Sun Alliance (now the RSA Insurance Group) as a trainee investment analyst in 1991. Holiday summer jobs at Sun Alliance had stimulated his interest in this career path. From 1994-2000, Nick worked as deputy head of life, UK equities for Morley Fund Management, now Aviva Investors.

Nick’s interest in investing had been inspired by his economics teacher at school who brought to life investing in the stock market by getting the students to compete in fantasy investment portfolios.
