Mr. Haughton has more than 30 years of indexing experience. While working at Russell Investments, he created the Russell index family, including the Russell 2000.

He also served as Director of Russell Investments’ client service unit for institutional investors and managed the firm’s partnership with the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), which brought ICE into equity futures trading.

He has a BS degree in Mathematics from Oregon State University and an MS in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics from the London School of Economics.

He is a recipient of the George F. Russell Jr. Achievement Award for Innovation and Entrepreneurial Leadership and was inducted into the Index Hall of Fame in 2009. In 2015, he was recognized by ETF.com as one of 14 Legends in Indexing.
