James is a senior portfolio manager at Stone Harbor Investment Partners. Previously, he served as a managing director and senior portfolio manager for emerging debt portfolios at Citigroup Asset Management.

In addition, he served as a managing director and senior portfolio manager at Salomon Brothers and as an assistant portfolio manager and quantitative analyst at Shearson Lehman Advisors. James began his career as a trading associate at Lehman Brothers in 1989.

He earned a B.S. from the University of Vermont, holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, and is a member of the CFA Society New York.
