Derek Janssen is a portfolio manager in the Equity division at Fidelity Investments. Fidelity Investments is a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing, and other financial products and services to institutions, financial intermediaries, and individuals.

In this role, Mr. Janssen is responsible for managing the Fidelity Small Cap Discovery Fund and Fidelity Series Small Cap Discovery Fund. Additionally, he co-manages Fidelity Small Cap Value Fund and Fidelity Advisor Small Cap Value Fund.

Prior to assuming his current responsibilities, Mr. Janssen was on Fidelity's Small Cap team in Boston, most recently covering technology companies. Previously, he covered international small-cap companies, based at various times out of both FMR Boston and FMR Tokyo.

Before joining Fidelity in 2007, Mr. Janssen worked at Skystone Capital Management, a small-cap, value-oriented hedge fund, and at Citadel LLC. He has been in the financial industry since 2003.

Mr. Janssen earned his bachelor of arts degree in economics from Stanford University and his master's degree in statistics from Harvard University.
